That was a problem because we—and most truckers—didn’t know the names of the towns in the surrounding rural areas. It was embarrassing, too, because we had to ask other drivers on the CB radio where we were. So, in 1998, we categorized truck-friendly, parkable stops by mile markers, exits, and crossroads and copyrighted the guide.

Since then, it has become an invaluable tool for drivers. Millions have used it to plan their stops at rest areas, truck stops, and repair facilities.

For over 27 years, major truck stop chains, many independent truck stops, and trucking companies ranging from small to huge have carried the Pocket Truck Stop Guide®. Several trucking companies require their drivers to have one in the truck.
